Being aboard a ship on its way to a particularly great destination is something each and every one of them dreams of, and the knowledge that they have the capacity to steer it themselves is what makes them actually want to.
Perhaps this is the reason why more and more people are succumbing to one of the most popular businesses around – affiliate marketing. It is because in this business, there are no bosses to order the employees around. There are no deadlines to meet and no clutter of work do to. One only needs to be equipped with the tools needed to succeed in a business such as this, and he is bound to get what his heart ultimately desires.
Just what are the things needed to be able to succeed in affiliate marketing? What must one have within himself to be able to do well in this industry? There is a lot of competition involved in affiliate marketing, and to be able to rise above the norm, one must be equipped with just the right stuff necessary to propel him forward. These 10 SEO Tactics Bring Me Over 2000 Visitors Daily
No matter how hard some people try to mystify SEO, it is not as complicated as many would lead you to believe. Despite all the techno jargon that many in the field will throw at you: SERPs, SEM, PageRank, Keyword Density, Vertical Search, Algorithms... SEO is really simple to do if you understand some basic concepts and follow some easy steps.
Search Engine Optimization is getting your content listed in all the top positions in Google, Yahoo and MSN for your targeted keywords. When someone does a keyword search in a search engine for your particular subject or niche - you want your site or content to be at the top of the list.
Here are 10 SEO tactics that have worked and are working for me at this moment in time. I make this clarification because you must understand search engines, especially Google, are constantly redefining how they rank pages. Here are my favorite tactics and strategies:
1. Quality Content is and always will be your number one factor for getting high rankings and keeping them. You must understand search engines are simply businesses who supply a product like any other company. That product is information. They must offer quality results to anyone using their service to solve a problem, answer a question or to buy a product. The more relevant, the more targeted the search solution they return, the higher the overall quality of their product and the more popular their search engine will become. Providing quality content is vital for SEO success.
2. Keywords are your number one tools for achieving high rankings. You must understand keywords and how they work on the web. You must know how many searches are made each day for your chosen keywords. Sites like Wordtracker and Seobook will give you a rudimentary number of searches. Design your pages around your targeted keywords and don't forget to do some deep-linking to these pages on your site. Find and build backlinks to these interior keyword pages and not just to your home page or domain URL. Picking keywords with medium to low competition has worked out well for me. So too has using the more targeted and higher converting "long-tail" keywords been very beneficial for me.
3. Onpage Factors and site design will play a major role in the spidering and indexing of your site/content. Make sure all your pages are SEO friendly, made sure all your pages can be reached from your homepage and no pages should be no more than three levels away from it - keeping a sitemap listing all your major pages makes the search engines happy. Make sure you have all your meta tags such as title, description, keywords... are all optimized. (Title = around 65 characters, Description = around 160 characters) Remember, your title and description should not only be keyword targeted but these are the first contact/impression anyone will see of your site - make sure you use them to draw and entice interested visitors to your site and content. Also make sure your title and URL are keyword matched for maximum effect. Having your major keyword in your Domain Name also helps, using a pike | to separate different elements of your title has helped my rankings, so too does having your keyword in the first and last 25 words on your pages.
4. Google will send you the most qualified traffic so concentrate the majority of your SEO efforts on Google. Don't ignore Yahoo! or MSN but Google is king of search so give it the respect it deserves. With its new browser, Google's influence will only grow stronger so you must optimize your pages for Google. Use Google's Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics to fine-tune your pages/content for Google. I also use Google Alerts to keep up on my niche keywords and for comment link-building on the newly created pages Google is indexing.
5. Link Building is still the most effective way to boost your search rankings. Make sure you get backlinks from relevant sites related to your niche market and make sure the 'anchor text' is related to your keywords but don't ignore the text and overall quality of the content linking to you. 6. Article Marketing is a well established method of getting quality backlinks and it still works. Writing short 500 - 700 word informative helpful articles with your backlinks in the resource box is still very effective for getting targeted traffic and backlinks. Longer articles have also worked for me and I use an extensive network of distribution including SubmitYourArticle, Isnare, Thephantomwriters... plus other major online sites. Don't forget the whole element of blogging and RSS feeds in your article distribution. And always remember you're also using these articles to pre-sale your content or products. Don't forget to leverage sites like Squidoo, Hubpages... to increase your rankings and traffic.

Works similar as a sub-domain but I prefer using a directory to divide it up, such as yourdomain/wedding_gifts. (Most experts suggest always using a hyphen in your urls but underscores have worked fine for me.) Search engines love these keyword/content rich hubs but keep in mind you're creating content to first satisfy your visitors.
8. WordPress blog software is extremely effective for SEO purposes. WordPress software is easy to install on your site even if you have no experience with installing server-side scripts. Besides search engines love these highly SEO friendly blogs with their well structured content and keyword tagging. I have at least one of these on all my sites to draw in the search engines and get my content indexed and ranked. I also use Blogger (owned by Google), Bloglines and other free blogs to help distribute my content.
9. Social Bookmark/Media Sites are becoming very important on the web. These include a whole range of social sites like MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter... media news sites like Digg, SlashDot, Technorati... you must get your content into this whole mix if you want to take full SEO advantage of Web 2.0 sites. You should be joining these sites and using them. It's time consuming but it will keep you in the swing of things. One simple thing you must do is to put social bookmark buttons on all your pages so that your visitors can easily bookmark your content for you. You can use a WordPress plug-in or I like using a simple free site/service from Addthis.com which gives me a simple button to put on all my content.

You must have an understanding of what SEO is and what it can do for you and your site. More importantly, you just don't want SEO - you want effective SEO. In order to achieve effective SEO you must have three things: Relevance, Authority and Conversions.
First, your content/site must be relevant to the topic or niche area you're pursuing - your content must fit in and be related to all the other sites in your niche. That's why closely themed sites do so well in the search engines, they give only relevant content to what's been searched for or discussed.
Second, your content/site must be perceived as an authority site on your subject or niche. Establish this authority position and the search engines will love you and your content. One way is to develop this authority, besides offering superior content, is to form links/partnerships with other perceived authority sites in your field. Always strive to make your site an authority site - tops in your niche - the one site everyone has to check before drawing or forming a conclusion.
Third, conversions should be your main goal of any SEO efforts because you want to convert your targeted traffic into site members, subscribers, buyers or just repeat visitors. # Add RSS feed to your Blog
From time to time the number of RSS subscribers continue to grow. RSS is a way to read a blog without having to visit the blog. This is not a guarantee that customers will read through RSS to your blog (and then see your ad).
But this can be resolve to invite their comments on your blog (so paste the link to your blog in the RSS document subscribe by your readers) :-)
# Submit your Blog on Portal
If you want people to know about your blog then you can register your blog on some of the portal. There are many website (portal) that register the blog. There are a registered blog portal that has a particular niche, such as Eaton Web (portal.eatonweb.com), or Globe of Blogs (www.globeofblogs.com).
There is also a portal that register with the blog in different ways, for example BlogShares (www.blogshares.com) and Blog Street (www.blogstreet.com / bin / add.cgi).
But in any type of portal is that all can increase the amount of traffic. So I encourage you to register your blog on the portal, the portal is. :-)
# Blog Search Engines and Indexes
In addition to the portal at the top, some sites have a feature that allows visitors to search for blog topics, and in accordance with a specific keyword. Register your blog there. For example (which I usually do) on Technorati (www.technorati.com).
# Create a Newsletter
Offer the reader to subscribe to your newsletter service so that they remain up to date with the post-post in your blog. If you feel too complicated to manage yourself, then there are many sites that are willing to 'manage' this newsletter to you, you only need to register it (for example, in www.livingroom.org.au).
Imagine, if there are people who register hundreds means that people have allows you to invite them to visit your blog!
# Involved in Projects Blog
From time to time there may be other bloggers who will invite you to be involved in the project of making a blog, such as a blog about natural disasters or blog for other social purposes. You do not hesitate to participate. Support, you will benefit from it (most do not 'network' you will be more knowledgeable).
In the meantime you can also create other project blog. Do not forget to invite other bloggers to get involved. :-)
# Engage in Web Forums
Be participated in web forums and engage in discussions on blogs that have relation with the topic of your blog. This will give you the opportunity to build on the credibility of your blog.

If you have the latest posts in your blog that might be interesting, do not be reluctant to tell other bloggers to the 4-5 (well do you know are personal and do not).
Send an email to them. Tell a modest they may be interested with the post. Maybe they are interested and will make a link to the post from the blog. (The need to remember, do not bombard the same people constantly with the email like this :-).

Al-Amidi - Pelopor Sistem Penulisan Bagi Tunanetra
Dunia modern boleh jadi hanya mengenal Louis Braille (1809-1852) sebagai satu-satunya penemu sistem penulisan bagi kalangan tunanetra. Padahal, 600 tahun sebelum Braille, peradaban Islam telah memelopori lahirnya sistem tulisan bagi kaum tunanetra. Sayangnya, terobosan penting yang diciptakan ilmuwan Muslim di abad ke-13 M itu seakan lenyap ditelan zaman.
Adalah profesor Muslim bernama Ali Ibnu Ahmed Ibnu Yusuf Ibnu Al-Khizr Al-Amidi yang telah merintis penciptaaan sistem penulisan bagi orang buta itu. Sejak terlahir ke dunia, Al-Amidi sudah dalam kondisi buta. Keterbatasan penglihatan itu tak menyurutkan semangatnya untuk belajar dan terus menggali ilmu. Ilmuwan asal Suriah itu pun termasyhur sebagai ahli hukum dan pakar bahasa asing.
Untuk menggali ilmu dan pengetahuan, Al-Amidi berhasil menciptakan sebuah sistem penulisan untuk kaum difabel. Dengan sistem penulisan yang diciptakannya, ilmuwan yang wafat pada 1314 M itu mampu membaca dan menulis buku. Penyandang tunanetra memang dikenal memiliki kemampuan meraba yang sangat luar biasa.
Berkah itu mampu dimanfaatkan Al-Amidi untuk menggali ilmu. Dengan kemampuan meraba dan menyentuh itu, dia tak hanya mampu menempatkan dan menyimpan buku pada rak, tetapi Al-Amidi juga mampu menentukan nomor halaman sebuah buku. Selain itu, ia juga mampu mengetahui nilai buku dengan menetapkan jarak baris buku.
Sayangnya, jasa dan dedikasi Al-Amidi dalam menciptakan sistem penulisan untuk kaum difabel itu seperti hilang ditelan zaman. Sejarah juga seakan melupakan kontribusi tak ternilai yang telah diberikan ilmuwan Muslim itu. Tak hanya adikaryanya yang terkubur zaman, sosok Al-Amidi juga nyaris tak pernah disebut-sebut dalam sejarah peradaban Islam.
Sungguh ironis memang. Bahkan dalam hampir seluruh buku sejarah, pun jejaknya sangat sulit untuk ditemukan. Tak heran jika warga dunia hanya mengenal Braille yang berkebangsaan Prancis sebagai penemu huruf Braille. Pada 1824, Braille menciptakan sejenis sistem tulisan sentuh yang khusus digunakan para penyandang tunanetra. Awalnya, sistem penulisan itu dirancang Braille ketika berusia 15 tahun untuk memudahkan tentara membaca di tempat gelap.
Sistem tulisan yang terdiri atas sel yang mempunyai enam titik timbul itu mulai populer dua tahun setelah Braille tutup usia. Sejak itulah, penyandang cacat tunanetra di seantero Prancis mulai menggunakan huruf Braille untuk membaca dan menulis. Huruf Braille terdiri atas 63 karakter. Setiap karakter atau sel terdiri atas enam titik--dua titik mendatar serta tiga titik lainnya menurun.
Titik-titik yang terdapat dalam sel itulah yang kemudian dapat dibaca oleh para tunanetra dengan menggunakan rabaan jari. Pada awalnya, huruf Braille tak mengenal huruf W. Setelah diadopsi sebagai sistem tulisan bagi kaum tunanetra yang universal dalam bahasa Inggris di London pada 1932, huruf Braille terus disempurnakan.
Kini, huruf Braille telah diperkaya dan dapat digunakan untuk membaca nota musik dan matematika. Bahkan, Alquran Braille pun sudah tersedia sejak lama. Kian kayanya fungsi huruf Braille terjadi setelah sistem penulisan itu ditambah dua titik lagi. Sehingga, setiap selnya terdiri atas delapan titik.
Dengan penambahan titik itu, penyandang tunanetra bisa membedakan huruf kapital dengan huruf kecil. Kombinasi delapan titik yang terdapat dalam setiap karakter huruf Braille itu, kini telah disusun dalam standar Unicode. Huruf Braille untuk bahasa Indonesia hampir sama dengan kode huruf Braille Inggris.
Sejarah Barat mencatat, sistem Braille pada mulanya dikembangkan Charles Barbier sebagai metode komunikasi. Adalah Kaisar Napoleon Bonaparte yang memerintahkan Barbier untuk membuat kode bagi para serdadunya untuk berkomunikasi dalam keadaan gelap gulita yang disebut tulisan malam. Namun, sistem yang dikembangkan Barbier itu terlalu kompleks untuk dipelajari tentara.
Sistem tulisan yang dikembangkan Barbier pun akhirnya ditolak militer. Hingga akhirnya pada 1824, Napoleon berkunjung ke Institut Nasional bagi orang tunanetra di Paris, Prancis, dan bertemu dengan Louis Braille. Lalu, Braille diminta untuk memodifikasi serta merancang sistem tulisan malam yang baru.
Ia lalu memodifikasi tulisan yang dibuat Barbier dengan menggunakan sistem sel yang terdiri atas enam titik. Dunia modern pun menganggap sistem tulisan Braille telah melahirkan semacam revolusi komunikasi bagi kalangan tunanetra.
Kesadaran untuk menghidupkan kembali sejarah hidup dan kontribusi Al-Amidi mulai muncul di Arab Saudi pada 1975 serta 1981 dan di Mesir pada 1961. Sejak tanggal 31 Maret 1975 dirayakan sebagai hari tunanetra dan pada 1981 dideklarasikan sebagai tahun internasional orang-orang cacat.
Tak jelas apa yang menyebabkan para sejarawan Muslim tak mencatat keberhasilan Al-Amidi yang begitu fenomenal. Boleh jadi, sistem tulisan yang dikembangkan Al-Amidi untuk kaum tunanetra serta tulisan tentang sejarah hidupnya musnah dalam huru-hara yang melanda wilayah Irak. Apalagi, Al-Amidi menetap di wilayah itu.
Pada 9 Juli 1401 M, Kota Baghdad dan wilayah Irak lainnya dihancurkan oleh pasukan Timur Lenk--penguasa Dinasti Timurid yang berpusat di Asia Tengah. Selain menghancurkan bangunan serta gedung-gedung penting, aksi invansi Timur Lenk yang masih keturunan Hulagu Khan itu juga menimbulkan korban jiwa belasan ribu jiwa.
Serangan Timur Lenk ke Baghdad merupakan invansi kedua yang dilakukan bangsa Mongol. Sebelumnya, pada 1258 M, Baghdad diluluhlantakan tentara Mongol pimpinan Hulagu Khan. Bait Al-Hikmah yang menyimpan jutaan judul buku dibakar. Bahkan, sungai-sungai pun berubah warnanya menjadi hitam, akibat tinta yang meleleh dari buku yang dibuang ke sungai.
Peradaban Islam modern tentunya memiliki tugas penting untuk melacak jejak karya dan sejarah hidup Al-Amidi. Bisa jadi pula, risalah tentang sejarah Al-Amidi digondol peradaban Eropa ketika menjajah negara-negara Muslim di Timur Tengah. Pun Sangat mungkin, berkat karya Al-Amidi-lah Braille terinspirasi untuk menciptakan tulisan bagi tunanetra. (N heri ruslan)
Ulama dan Ilmuwan Muslim Tunanetra
Selain Al-Amidi, peradaban Islam di era keemasan juga mencatat kiprah sederet ilmuwan dan ulama Muslim yang menyandang tunanetra. Ada yang sejak lahir mengalami kebutaan dan ada pula yang mengalami kebutaan pada usia tua. Bahkan, ada pula yang ketika lahir tunanetra, namun penglihatannya bisa kembali normal, seperti Imam Bukhari. Berikut ini adalah beberapa ulama dan ilmuwan Muslim yang tunanetra:
Abdullah Ibnu Ummu Maktum
Abdullah adalah sahabat Rasulullah SAW yang menyandang tunanetra. Namun, keterbatasan penglihatan tak menyurutkan daya juangnya untuk membela dan menyebarkan agama Allah SWT. Sejarah peradaban Islam mencatat, Abdullah sempat memainkan peranan penting dalam komunitas Muslim pada zamannya.
Tak hanya sekadar sahabat bagi Rasulullah SAW, Abdullah adalah keponakan Siti Khadijah--istri pertama Nabi Muhammad SAW. Ayahnya bernama Qays ibnu Za'id dan ibunya Atikah binti Abdullah. Atikah dijuluki Ummu Maktum karena dia melahirkan seorang anak yang buta bernama Abdullah.
Abdullah merupakan salah seorang sahabat yang terbilang paling awal menerima kebenaran ajaran Islam. Dia pun menyaksikan bagaimana Islam berkembang pesat di Makkah dan Madinah. Meski pada awalnya mendapat tekanan dan siksaan dari kaum Quraisy, Abdullah yang tunanetra tetap memegang keyakinannya sebagai seorang Muslim.
Ia juga tetap berada di belakang Rasulullah SAW untuk membela agama Allah SWT. Salah satu kelebihan yang dimilikinya adalah daya ingat yang luar biasa. Tak heran, jika Abdullah menjadi salah seorang sahabat yang bertugas untuk menghapal Alquran.
'Abdur-Razzaq bin Humam
Nama lengkapnya adalah Abu Bakar 'Abdur-Razzaq bin Humam bin Nafi' Al-Himyari. Dia adalah seorang ulama yang memiliki pengetahuan yang luar biasa. Ia juga merupakan seorang ahli hadis. Dari Abdu-Razzaq-lah, imam Ahmad, Ishak, Ibnu Ma'in, dan Adh-Dhuhli mendengar langsung hadis. Pada awalnya, penglihatan Abdur-Razzaq normal. Namun, memasuki usia tua, dia mengalami kebutaan. Meski begitu, dia tetap dikenal sebagai ahli hadis yang memiliki hapalan yang tajam. Ia meninggal pada 211 H pada usia 85 tahun.

Peradaban Islam modern tentunya memiliki tugas penting untuk melacak jejak karya dan sejarah hidup Al-Amidi. Bisa jadi pula, risalah tentang sejarah Al-Amidi digondol peradaban Eropa ketika menjajah negara-negara Muslim di Timur Tengah. Pun Sangat mungkin, berkat karya Al-Amidi-lah Braille terinspirasi untuk menciptakan tulisan bagi tunanetra. (N heri ruslan)
Ulama dan Ilmuwan Muslim Tunanetra
Selain Al-Amidi, peradaban Islam di era keemasan juga mencatat kiprah sederet ilmuwan dan ulama Muslim yang menyandang tunanetra. Ada yang sejak lahir mengalami kebutaan dan ada pula yang mengalami kebutaan pada usia tua. Bahkan, ada pula yang ketika lahir tunanetra, namun penglihatannya bisa kembali normal, seperti Imam Bukhari. Berikut ini adalah beberapa ulama dan ilmuwan Muslim yang tunanetra:
Abdullah Ibnu Ummu Maktum
Abdullah adalah sahabat Rasulullah SAW yang menyandang tunanetra. Namun, keterbatasan penglihatan tak menyurutkan daya juangnya untuk membela dan menyebarkan agama Allah SWT. Sejarah peradaban Islam mencatat, Abdullah sempat memainkan peranan penting dalam komunitas Muslim pada zamannya.
Tak hanya sekadar sahabat bagi Rasulullah SAW, Abdullah adalah keponakan Siti Khadijah--istri pertama Nabi Muhammad SAW. Ayahnya bernama Qays ibnu Za'id dan ibunya Atikah binti Abdullah. Atikah dijuluki Ummu Maktum karena dia melahirkan seorang anak yang buta bernama Abdullah.
Abdullah merupakan salah seorang sahabat yang terbilang paling awal menerima kebenaran ajaran Islam. Dia pun menyaksikan bagaimana Islam berkembang pesat di Makkah dan Madinah. Meski pada awalnya mendapat tekanan dan siksaan dari kaum Quraisy, Abdullah yang tunanetra tetap memegang keyakinannya sebagai seorang Muslim.
Ia juga tetap berada di belakang Rasulullah SAW untuk membela agama Allah SWT. Salah satu kelebihan yang dimilikinya adalah daya ingat yang luar biasa. Tak heran, jika Abdullah menjadi salah seorang sahabat yang bertugas untuk menghapal Alquran.
'Abdur-Razzaq bin Humam
Nama lengkapnya adalah Abu Bakar 'Abdur-Razzaq bin Humam bin Nafi' Al-Himyari. Dia adalah seorang ulama yang memiliki pengetahuan yang luar biasa. Ia juga merupakan seorang ahli hadis. Dari Abdu-Razzaq-lah, imam Ahmad, Ishak, Ibnu Ma'in, dan Adh-Dhuhli mendengar langsung hadis. Pada awalnya, penglihatan Abdur-Razzaq normal. Namun, memasuki usia tua, dia mengalami kebutaan. Meski begitu, dia tetap dikenal sebagai ahli hadis yang memiliki hapalan yang tajam. Ia meninggal pada 211 H pada usia 85 tahun.
Abu 'Iesa Muhammad bin 'Iesa bin Sura At-Tirmidzi
Ia dikenal sebagai ahli hadis yang termasyhur. Terlahir di Tirmiz, Uzbekistan, pada 209 H, murid Imam Bukhari ini dikenal dengan panggilan At-Tirmidzi. Salah satu kontribusinya bagi pengembangan agama Islam adalah kitab Al-Jami-- menghimpun 4.000 hadis Nabi Muhammad SAW. Kitab yang ditulisnya itu juga populer dengan julukan, Sunan At-Tirmidzi. At-Tirmidzi juga berjasa dalam mengembangkan metodelogi hadis yang disusunnya dalam buku bertajuk, Al-'Ilal. Sang ahli hadis pun mengalami kebutaan. Ia tutup usia pada 13 Rajab 279 H. (Hri/yto)
